William M. Beyer

William M. Beyer, 79, of Hanover, IL died Friday, June 26, 2020, At his home surrounded by his loving family. A celebration of life will be held at 2 PM Friday, July 3, 2020, at Crossroads Community Church, Galena and where friends may gather after 1 PM at the church until time of the celebration. Burial will be held later. Cremation rites have been accorded. The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena is assisting the family. He was born January 19, 1941, in Chicago IL the son of Anthony and Anna (Smochek) Beyer. Bill graduated from Tuley High School, Chicago with the class of 1958.  He served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp from 1959 until his honorable discharge in 1965. He was tasked during this time working security details for Presidents, Kennedy, Eisenhower, and Johnson. Bill was united in marriage to Rosalie Pearl Green. He enjoyed fishing, carpentering, money management and was a very generous individual. He donated to Toys for Tots and many other organizations. He is survived by his wife, Rosalie, one son, Billy (Liz) Beyer of Hanover and his stepson, Danny (Susan) Beyer of Savanna, three grandsons, Mogie, Scott and Zachary, granddaughter, Araya and his nephew, Michael Moore of Hanover. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Scott. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Dubuque, The Furlong Funeral Chapel, our family at Crossroads Community Church, Dr. Vandigo, the Community of Hanover and our many family and friends. Your outpouring of support and kindness during this difficult time will never be forgotten.
