Warren Valley Dorn, Jr of Galena, Illinois died peacefully on Friday, June 26th, 2020, at UW Madison Hospital after an 8-month battle with lung cancer. He was born in Staten Island, New York, and grew up in Minneapolis Minnesota. In his 30’s he moved to Oak Park Illinois where he met and married his wife Barbara on January 4th, 1986. Warren attended the University of Minnesota and graduated with a Liberal Arts Degree in American Studies. He served in various Real Estate related businesses for much of his life and he was fascinated by the mobility of Americans. He was a real estate agent, an appraiser, and an executive of several relocation firms in the Chicago area. For 21 years he owned and operated Windy City Field Hockey, a sports club in the Chicago area, with his wife Barb. He had a brilliant and curious mind and was a student of World War II. He loved anything with an engine and collected and restored motorcycles. He very proudly served on the Friends Board of PBS Wisconsin until his death. Warren is survived by his wife Barbara Liles, Galena, Illinois, and his brother Rick (Phyllis) Dorn Jacksonville, Florida. He has 8 nieces and nephews: Jaci (Jason) Casazza, Jenny (Rahul) Handa, James (Jennifer) Silasiri, Paul (Michelle) Casazza, Chris Dorn, Eric (Gretchen) Dorn, Stuart (Madeline) Dorn and Nancy (David) Tigges. He was preceded in death by his mother Vivian Dorn and Father Warren Dorn Sr. If you choose to leave a memorial for Warren, he would be most proud if you would contribute a gift to PBS Wisconsin.
