Shirley A. Kaiser

Shirley A. Kaiser, 81 of Galena, IL and formerly Menominee, IL passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018 at her home. Funeral mass will be 11 AM, Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Nativity BVM Catholic Church, Menominee, where friends may call after 9 AM, at the church until time of mass. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Cremation rites have been accorded. The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena is assisting the family. She was born November 23, 1936 in Dubuque, IA the daughter of Donald and Helen (Ricke) Miller. Shirley was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Kaiser on April 21, 1956 at Nativity BVM Catholic Church, Menominee. She spent her life as a loving and caring homemaker. Shirley enjoyed playing euchre, especially team euchre, polka dancing, traveling, and working on seek and find word puzzles. She was an avid Cubs fan and never a missed a game on their way to the World Series. Shirley was a member of Nativity BVM Catholic Church and St. Anne’s Society. She is survived by her husband Dick Kaiser, three sons, Keith (Paula), Kevin (Cyndi), and Kurt (Angie) all of Galena, nine grandchildren, Jennifer (P.J. LuGrain) Kaiser, Tyler (Katie Lisk) Kaiser, Chris (Ashley) Kaiser, Logon and Kassity Kaiser, Casey (Megan) Kaiser, Darien (Kyle) Knight, Gavin Kaiser, and Kailyn (Ross) Stumpf, six great-grandchildren, Payton, Chloe, Austin, Walker, Kennedy, and one to arrive soon, one brother, Donald (Kathy) Miller, three brothers in-law, Delbert Kaiser, Robert (Judy) Kaiser and Harry Kaiser, two sisters in-law, Annette Miller and Bernita Kaiser. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers in-law, Merlin and Richard and a sister in-law, Alice. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Dubuque, Dr. Brian Sullivan, and Dr. Mark Janes. Your care and compassion during this difficult time will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Dubuque in memory of Shirley.
