Sharon Ann McGuire, 75, of Galena, IL was welcomed home by Our Lord and Savior on March 10, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM, Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena. In keeping with her wishes there will be no public service. Burial will be held at a later date. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation.  She was born May 23, 1942 in Baraboo, WI the daughter of Hubert and Ann (Harwick) Olson. Sharon later moved to Galena with her siblings where she was raised by Leo Greene. She was united in marriage to Michael McGuire on November 25, 1960 in Galena where together they raised their family. Sharon had various jobs though out her life, providing home assistance and most recently working for Signcraft, Galena until her retirement. She was a vivacious, fun loving gal, who loved her family, gardening, trips to Green Bay, WI. Sharon was an avid Brett Favre and Reggie White fan. Her biggest enjoyment in life was decorating for Christmas. Sharon is survived by her husband, Michael, her daughter, Debra (William) Bennett, two sons, Scott and Tim McGuire, grandchildren, Shannon Thompson, Bryan (Lauren) Loonsfoot, Laken (Aaron) Loonsfoot, Annie and Matthew McGuire, great-grandchildren, Gage and Jamie Thompson, Zayden and Emry Loonsfoot, one brother, Kenny Olson, three sisters, Nancy White, Leanne Gaulke and Cheryl Schuckert, brother in-law, Alfred Ernzen and her two fur babies, Cocoa and Shorty, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo (Ann) Greene, a son, Patrick, father in-law, William Darby McGuire, great-grandson, Lium Thompson, brother, Jeffrey Greene, two sisters in-law, Maryrose Ernzen and Patricia Olson, two brothers in-law, Ron Gaulke and Skip Schuckert, her great-niece, Keanah Bates. “Mom you will forever be in our hearts”. A special thank you to Dr. Bernard and Becky of Hospice of Dubuque. A heartfelt thank you to Laken and Annie for their tender loving care they gave their “Grammie”.
