Richard “Dick” D. Greene

Richard “Dick” D. Greene, 67 of Stockton, IL and formerly Hanover, IL passed away June 5, 2017 at Waverly Place of Stockton. Funeral service will be 11 AM, Saturday June 24, 2017 at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena where friends may call after 9AM, until time of service. Burial will be held at a later date. Military honors will be accorded by the Galena VFW Post #2665 and American Legion Post #193 immediately following the service at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded. He was born October 4, 1949 in Hazel Green WI the son of Bernard and Bernice (Wasson) Greene. Dick attended Galena schools. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam until his honorable discharge. Dick was united in marriage to Diana Patterson on December 30, 1978. He was employed at Eaton Corporation in Hanover for over twenty-five years until his retirement. After retiring he was a volunteer driver for Hanover Ambulance and worked with the outside crew at Chestnut Mountain Resort for twenty plus years. Dick enjoyed fishing, camping with his kids, yard sales, Red’s Antiques in Galena and old cars. He loved family time with his kids and later his grandchildren whom he spoiled rotten. He is survived by his two sons, Raymond (Krista) Greene and Nicholas (Renee) Greene both of Hanover, a daughter, Carissa (Ricardo) Barajas of Des Moines, IA, fourteen grandchildren, Joshua, Delanney, Kearston, Kamron, Jordan, Remington, Gwendalynn, Shaila, Dayan, Mateo, Kyler, Charlie, Bryson and Maddux, his ex-wife and friend, Diana Harms, brother, Chuck (Karen) Dubord, two step-brothers, Keith and Barry Richardson, two step-sisters, Judy (Ron) Wienen and Diane Paxton, four sisters in-law, Carol Dubord, Doris Greene-Corder, Kathy and Wendy Greene, brother in-law, Donald “Duck” Harwick. He was preceded in death by his parents and step parents, three sisters, Darlene Harwick, Pat Ertmer and Sally in infancy, three brothers, Carl, Ken and Terry Greene, two step-brothers, Ron Dubord and Dwayne Richardson, a brother in-law, Bob Ertmer. A Richard “Dick” Greene memorial fund has been established.
