Raymond “Skip” Anger Jr., 67 of Dubuque, IA and Hanover, IL died Thursday, May 21, 2015 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, May 29, 2015 at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Hanover, IL where friends may call after 9:30 AM until time of service. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery, Galena where military rites will be accorded by Galena VFW Post #2665 and American Legion Post #193. A gathering will be held from 4 to 8 PM, Thursday, May 28, 2015 at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena where the rosary will be recited at 4 PM. Cremation rites have been accorded. He was born December 24, 1947 in Hazel Green, WI the son of Raymond Sr. and Betty (Ihde) Anger. Skip served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge on November 21, 1969. He was united in marriage to Margaret Unfried on September 15, 2007 and she survives. Skip was employed at Flynn Ready Mix for over thirty years and McDonald’s in Galena. He enjoyed gardening, model railroading, fishing and traveling. Skip is survived by his wife, Margaret of Hanover, his mother and father in-law, Joseph (Judith) Unfried of Hanover, two sisters in-law, Julie (Dale) Harms of Hanover and Lucy (Joseph) Brenner of Elizabeth, three nephews, Casey (Sarah) True of Overton, TX, Benjamin Brenner of Elizabeth and Thomas Harms of Hanover, one niece, Emma Brenner of Elizabeth. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Bonnie True.
