Randall A. Walters
Randall A. Walters, 65, of Elizabeth, IL passed away Thursday, September 29, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. In keeping with his wishes there will be no services. A celebration of life will be held at his son’s business Jug’s Main Street Tap in Elizabeth on Sunday, November 27, 2016 from Noon until 3 PM. The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena is assisting the family. Keeping with the tradition of nicknames in Elizabeth, many knew Randy as “Goose” since age 5. He was the son of Irene and Leroy Becker and Kermit Walters. Randy was a realtor for forty-two years, a tavern and restaurant owner spanning three decades, a firefighter and a farmer. Anyone who knew Randy knew he loved life. He loved his town and skipped a “bucket list” trip because he did not want to die anywhere but his small town. Randy loved cars. He bragged he was the first person at Elizabeth High School to have “Mag” wheels and could tell you who owned every cool car in Jo Daviess County since 1960. Randy loved cooking and when he was not reading a car magazine, he was cooking a recipe from the food network. Most of all he loved his family; wife of forty-four years, Debbie, children, Cory and Lara, Justin and Lisa, Nathan and Jasmine, Kati and Dane, his grandchildren, Madelyn, Kathryn, Evelyn, Emma, Ethan, Diem, Corey and Bret. “I don’t know when, but we’ll get together then, Dad we’re gonna have a good time then.”
