Phyllis M. Wilcox, 86, of Scales Mound, IL and formerly of Winnebago passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Galena Stauss Senior Care Community. A private family service will be held at a later date in Winnebago. The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena is assisting the family. She was born October 28, 1929 in Sandwich, IL the daughter of Edwin and Almeda (Clark) Cunz. Phyllis was united in marriage to Thomas J. Wilcox on March 3, 1950 in Waterman, IL and he preceded her in death on December 18, 2007. She worked for Pacific Scientific, Rockford for many years until her retirement. Phyllis enjoyed wintering in Texas, puzzles, spending time with her family and friends. She had a special place in heart for all animals. Phyllis is survived by her three children, Brenda (Peter) Lamberton of Powhatan, AR, Tina DeGarmo of Scales Mound and David (Judy) Wilcox of Winnebago, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one sister, Marlene Morrison of St. Charles, IL and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Wendell, a son in-law, Bill DeGarmo. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Koenigs, the staff at Hospice of Dubuque and Galena Stauss Senior Care Community for the care and compassion shown to our mother.
