Peter P. Sedan
Peter Paul Sedan, 100, of Galena, IL passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Midwest Medical Center, Galena. The family will be having a private memorial service for Pete, at a later date. He will be cremated and laid to rest alongside his loving wife Jeannette in the shade of their favorite tree, to continue to watch over his family. We would like to thank Tom Furlong and the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena who is assisting us through this sad process. He was born November 30, 1918 in East Chicago, IN the son of John and Rafila Sedan. He was united in marriage to his wife of 69 years Jeannette German on June 9, 1946 at St. Nicholas Church, East Chicago and she preceded him in death on February 13, 2014. Pete retired from Inland Steel of East Chicago, IN, served in the military overseas during WW II, loved to travel with his wife, spend “Special Time” with his granddaughters, as well as golf in the local Galena Golf Club Senior League. He is survived by his only child, John (Cindy) Sedan of Hazel Green, WI, his two loving granddaughters, Bonnie (Pam Ravenwood) Sedan of Sedona, AZ and Jennifer (Chad) Berning of Galena and his great-grandson, Colin Earl Berning. The family wishes to thank Everyone in Galena that touched Pete’s life. He loved the area and the people. Special heartfelt thank you to Dr. Greg Vandigo, for his special caring and professionalism, as well as helping Pete to live a full and happy life, for over 100 years. Also, a thank you to the second floor staff at Midwest Medical Center, especially Courtney and Megan for their compassion to the end, and all the staff at Galena Stauss Senior Care Community, that made Pete always feel safe and secure.
