Nancy Lee Crow

Nancy Lee Crow, 81 of Galena, IL passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Galena Stauss Senior Care Community. In keeping with her wishes there will be no public visitation or services. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Greenwood Cemetery, Galena. She was born July 12, 1936 in Freeport, IL the daughter of Harry and Beryl (Morgan) Cox. Nancy attended Cornell College in Mount Vernon, IA. She was united in marriage to Guy Hartford Crow on December 29, 1958 in Miami, OK and he preceded her in death on April 7, 2013. Nancy worked at several businesses including Stevens Smartwear, Dubuque, and Grantview Restaurant and the Stillman Inn both in Galena. Her greatest accomplishment, though, was providing a warm and loving home for her family. Nancy enjoyed the Walking Dead TV series and taking trips with Guy and seeing the country. She was an avid fan of the Cubs and Bears and was very happy that the Cubs won the World Series. She also spent her time visiting with her friends at Happy Joe’s and watching harness racing at the Quad City Downs and was good at picking the winners. She is survived by her daughter, Jill Crow of Moline, IL, a sister, Juanita Cox of Dubuque, sisters-in-law, Doris Crow of Dubuque and Dixie Davis of Florida, a brother-in-law, James Crow of Rockford, and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister, Betty Cox. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Galena Foundation in memory of Nancy. The family would like to thank the staff of the Galena Stauss Senior Care Community for making her last month’s so enjoyable for her.
