Marie L. Chorak, 62 of Galena, IL passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018, at Manor Care Health Services, Dubuque, IA. Funeral mass will be 11:30 AM, Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Galena. Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM, Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena. Burial will be held at a later date. She was born December 8, 1955, in Chicago, IL the daughter of George “Bud” Tebbetts and Beatrice “Bea” Smith. Marie went to Morton East High School and Morton Junior College in Cicero, IL. She was united in marriage to Dr. Robert F. Chorak, a dentist of Galena on October 11, 1981, in Cicero, IL and he survives. Marie worked as a dental assistant and office manager. She liked to dance, had a love for children and animals, loved to make people laugh and always wanted to help people. Marie is survived by her husband, their two children; Alexander (Kristen) Chorak of Chicago, IL, Elizabeth Chorak of Cedar Rapids, IA., two sisters; Jeannie (Michael) Alore, Donna Aikens, a brother, John (Sue) Tebbetts, and nine nieces and nephews and five great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her mother and father-in-law; Peter (Della) Chorak and a brother James Tebbetts.
