Margaret J. Saam, 74, of Galena, IL passed away on February 22, 2023.  A funeral mass will be held at 11 AM, on Monday, February 27, 2023, at St. Michaels Catholic Church, Galena where friends may gather after 10 AM until the time of mass. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena is in charge of arrangements. She was born September 2, 1948, in Hazel Green, WI the daughter of Duke and Irene (Burke) Montgomery. Margaret graduated from Galena High School with the class of 1967. She married John Saam on January 31, 1970, at St. Michaels Catholic Church. Margaret worked for Dr. McKay in Dubuque as a dental assistant, KFC, the Dairy Dream, Bellas Pizza, the Bakers Oven, and R & L Gas Mart all in Galena.  She enjoyed spending time with her dogs, talking to friends, and Facebooking. She is survived by her husband, John, daughter-in-law, Genta Saam, two grandchildren, Alexander and Christiana, and her many cousins. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Christopher, two brothers, Joe and Mike Montgomery, and her uncle, Clair Burke.
