Lawrence “Larry” O’ Reilly, 77 of Galena, IL passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at the Epione Pavilion, Cuba City, WI. Family and friends may gather from 2 to 6 PM on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena. Burial will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded. He was born June 1, 1938 in Van Nyes, CA the son of Richard and Helen (Hagie) O’Reilly. Larry graduated from St. Ignatius High School, Chicago, the class of 1956. He served in the National Guard for six years until his honorable discharge. Larry married Margaret “Peg” Douaire in 1993 in Chicago and she survives. He worked for the Chicago Board of Education for many years until his retirement in 1993. Larry then worked for Quigley Seminary for two years until his move to Galena. After arriving in Galena he drove a school bus for Galena and Scales Mound School District. When he couldn’t drive anymore he often talked about how much he missed picking up and dropping off the school children. Larry loved to travel, camp, read and enjoy a good cigar. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents.
