Verne was a treasure, he and I were support teammates his last few years on Ragbrai…He would tell us stories of his adventures. His love of fishing and travel. He would set up Texas Hold ‘em games nightly. We would ride around the town and he knew all the good eating places. He would talk about his family and how proud he was. I truly enjoyed spending time with him on Ragbrai. He will really be missed by me and our team. My heart felt condolences to all his family. Verne was one of a kind❤️
