Julie A. Musich

Julie A. Musich, 78 of rural Hanover, IL passed away Friday June 1, 2018 at University Hospital and Clinics, Iowa City, IA. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Chestnut Mountain Resort, 8700 West Chestnut Mountain Road, Galena, IL. A reception at Chestnut Mountain Resort will immediately follow the celebration of Julie’s life. A private family burial will be held at a later date in Prospect Hill Cemetery, rural Galena. Cremation rites have been accorded. The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena is assisting the family. She was born January 28, 1940 in Grinnell, IA the daughter of Fredric and Anna (Knight) Ramsey. Julie was a long time resident of both Northfield and rural Hanover, IL with her husband James whom she married in Grinnell on August 21, 1965. She attended Lawrence University, Appleton, WI and National College of Education, Evanston, IL. Upon graduation, she taught first grade in Glencoe, IL and later worked as a secretary of Northfield Community Church. While in Chicago she was active in the Junior League of Evanston, P.E.O. and volunteered at the Chicago Botanic Garden. Julie was an avid tennis player for nearly sixty years and fervent fan of Chicago Sports. Upon moving to the Hanover area in 1996, Julie involved herself in the First Presbyterian Church, Galena, Jo Daviess Conservation Foundation, P.E.O. Chapter GE, Galena area book club for more than twenty years, and was a supporter of the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra. She is survived by her husband James Musich of Hanover, her son Jeffrey (Susan) Musich and grandchildren, Anna and Matthew Musich of Glenview, IL, her brother, Richard (Susan) Ramsey of Grinnell, IA and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Stephen. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the Jo Daviess Conservation Foundation, Dubuque Symphony Orchestra or Chicago Botanic Garden would be appreciated.
