Judy J. Yost

Judy J. Yost, 81 of Dubuque, IA, and formerly of Galena, IL, passed away January 30, 2026, at UnityPoint Finley Hospital in Dubuque. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. The Furlong Funeral Chapel in Galena is assisting the family. She was born April 15, 1944, in Guttenberg, IA, the daughter of Sam and Mabel (Winch) Morley. Judy attended Guttenberg High School.  She married Frederic “Fritz” Yost on September 9, 1961, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Galena, and he preceded her in death on December 21, 2019. Judy worked at the Dubuque Packing Company for many years before retiring. She and Fritz enjoyed Country Line Dancing with a group of friends. She is survived by her son, Stefan Yost, his wife, Christine Leslie-Yost of Ft. Myers, FL, four grandchildren, Andy (Diana) Madrigal of Berwyn, IL, Randy Leslie, Nicholas Leslie, and Isabella Leslie, all of Elmhurst, IL, two great-grandkids, Bailey and Benjamin Madrigal of Berwyn, and a sister, Fonda Wittman of Dubuque. Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, two sisters, Norma Barnhart and Darlene Goedken; three brothers-in-law, Art Barnhart, Florian Goedken, and Marlin Wittman; and one niece, Lynn Welter.

    Judy was a long time, precious friend and we will miss her tremendously. Rusty and I are terribly saddened . We have many years of great memories to hold on to. She was truly a light in our lives and the lives of Doug and Angie as well.
