Joyce Ellen Gronner, 77, of Galena, IL, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, November 23, 2025. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public services. Cremation rites will be accorded. The Furlong Funeral Chapel in Galena is assisting the family. Joyce was born on June 5, 1948, in Manchester, IA, the daughter of Philip and Ruth (Anthony) Becker. She worked in many roles throughout her life — welder, dairy farmer, and bartender — each reflecting her strength and determination. At the time of her passing, she was the co-owner of Blacktop Driveway Services of Galena. She is survived by her loving husband of thirty-one years, William Gronner; her two sons, Gerald Bennett and his wife Maryanne Wachter Bennett, and Patrick Dunn and his partner Richard Abel; her adored grandchildren, Tyler Wayne Bennett and Chase Anthony Bennett, whom she loved deeply and endlessly; and her siblings Philip, Wayne, and Jackie Clark. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Hospice of Dubuque for their compassionate care.
