Jordan M. Duerr
Jordan Michael Duerr, 17 of East Dubuque, IL passed away Friday, May 6, 2016 at University of Iowa Hospitals from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, May 12, 2016 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Galena and where friends may call Thursday after 9:30 AM at the church. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery, Galena. Friends may call from 3 to 7 pm Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena. He was born July 5, 1998 in Dubuque, IA the son of Joseph Duerr and Maggie Smith-Thiltgen. Jordan was a current honor student at East Dubuque High School preparing for graduation on June 3, 2016. He worked at Jackson Concrete, Galena with his step father John. He loved super heroes, especially Captain America and his best friend and companion “Fluffy”. Jordan was very dedicated in everything he did from his school work to keeping himself in shape. He was a very quiet person who refused any special attention, but could always light up a room with his contagious smile. He is survived by his mother, Maggie (John) Thiltgen of East Dubuque, his father, Joe (Lisa) Duerr of Stockton, IL, two sisters, Samantha Duerr and Sara Thiltgen both of East Dubuque, step-sister, Lindsey Volling and step-brother, Logan Volling both of Stockton, his maternal grandmother, Mary Gill Smith of Galena, his paternal grandmother, Nita Duerr of Elizabeth, IL and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert Smith, his paternal grandfather, Donald Duerr and a cousin, Lucy Smith and his best friend, John Splinter. Jordan was an organ donor to help save other peoples lives. The family requests no flowers. In honor of Jordan the family requests that on Friday, May 13, 2016 people wear their favorite super hero outfit.
