Jeanette Frances Hartman, 94 of Galena, IL died peacefully on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at home with Jeannie and Mary by her side. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM, Friday, May 11, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Galena where friends may gather after 9:30 AM until time of Mass. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Cremation rites have been accorded. The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena is assisting the family. She was born January 10, 1924, in Galena the daughter of John and Mary (Knobbe) Werner. She married Harold “Monk” Hartman in October of 1940 and he preceded her in death on January 6, 2004. Jeanette will be remembered as a beautiful wife, mother, and grandmother who in her younger years loved fishing, morel hunting, baking for her family and gardening. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She is survived by her three children, Harry (Joyce) Hartman of Rockford, Jeanette Meneguin of Scales Mound and Mary Hartman of Galena, a daughter in-law, Kathy Hartman of Dubuque, nine grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Charles “Joe” Hartman and son-in-law Tom Meneguin. The family would like to extend a special thank you for all the love and care given by Ryan, Michelle, Jen and Ed at Adult Day Care, Linda Nobis, Diann Laity and Jill Smith who made a such a difference in Mom’s life.
