Jay Allan Bartell

Jay Allan Bartell, 54 of Fulton, IL and formerly Galena, IL died November 24, 2020, unexpectedly at his home. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, a burial of his cremated remains next to his parents in Greenwood Cemetery, Galena will take place when it is safer to gather. A celebration of his life will follow. The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena is assisting the family. He was born April 1, 1966, in Hazel Green, WI the son of Richard and Charlotte (Schultz) Bartell. Jay grew up in Galena. He was full of love and kindness for all his family and friends. He had an open-door policy and welcomed people with open arms. Jay loved spending time with his grandchildren, singing and dancing to karaoke. He was very generous and crafty and could build anything. Jay loved spending time by his fire in his man cave. He is survived by two sons, Allan Jay “AJ” (Brittany Kramer) Gagne, of Dubuque, IA, and Jason Pettera, of Hanover, IL, one daughter, Tiffany (Anthony) Dosio, of Kieler, WI, three grandchildren, Riley, Kaiden and Carter, his brothers Roger (Jenny) Bartell and Barney Bartell both of Galena, Russell Bartell of Livingston, WI, Scott (Cindy) Bartell of Benton, WI, a sister-in-law, Lisa Bartell, nineteen nieces and nephews, his very close and special friend, Debra Gagne. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Kyle Bartell. He will be deeply missed. Fly high “Jay Bird”.
