James N. Folks, 47, of Galena, IL, passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals on Thursday, September 12, 2024. A funeral service will be held at 6 PM on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena, where friends may call after 4 PM until the time of service. Cremation rites will follow the service. The burial will be held at a later date. He was born January 4, 1977, in Galena, the son of Doug and Bonnie (Hebert) Folks. Jim was employed at Signcraft, Galena, where he worked for 25-plus years. He was always there to help friends and family remodel their homes or do anything they needed. Jim loved spending time with his daughter, MadyLynn. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. Jim is survived by his daughter, MadyLynn, his parents, Doug (Bonnie) Folks, his brother, Tracy (Kim) Folks; two nieces, Emilly and Katrina; a nephew, Gregory, two uncles, Richard (Charlotte) Hebert and Tyler Switzer, three aunts, Cherree Sites, Jodi (Keith Invergo) Switzer, and Rhonda Switzer, also many cousins. He was preceded in death by five uncles, Edward and Thomas Hebert, Todd Switzer, Greg Folks, and John Sites, and one aunt, Carol Hebert.

I’ll never forget. all the time Jimmie spent over on Dodge St with Justin Josh and Angie when they were younger. Bonnie you always knew where to come or call when he needed to come home. He was always a well behaved young man when he was there.
