James “Jim” F. DuFresne, 93 of Galena, IL passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 at Galena Stauss Senior Care Community. In keeping with his wishes there will be no local services. Graveside service will be 11 AM, Saturday, June 17, 2017 in Dannavang Cemetery Warrens, WI. Cremation rites have been accorded. The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena is assisting the family. He was born February 21, 1924 in Marinette, WI the son of Clarence and Mabel (Anderson) DuFresne. Jim served as an Aviation Cadet in the United States Navy during WWII until his honorable discharge. He was united in marriage to Patricia Callaway on February 1, 1973 and she preceded him in death on March 14, 2014. Jim loved dancing and fishing. He is survived by three daughters, Laurel (Jimmy) Hendrix of Orange Park, FL, Marie Grant of Spartanburg, SC and Cheryl (Dan) Johannsen of West Bend, WI, two step-sons, Richard (Holly) Winrich of Eau Claire, WI and Wesley (Susan) Winrich of Tomah, WI, one step-daughter, Diana (Tim) Ahrenholtz of Galena and many grand and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and his siblings. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Galena Stauss Senior Community and Assisted Living for their excellent care these past several years.
