Irene A. Weber Budden, 79, of Menominee, IL passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on March 19, 2016. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, March, 23 2016 at Nativity BVM Catholic Church, Menominee. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM, Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena where a rosary will be recited at 3:45 PM. She was born on February 26, 1937 at Moonlight in Menominee, the daughter of Herman and Leonetta (Pfohl) Weber. She was united in marriage to Donald P. Budden on August 8, 1959 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Galena. He preceded her in death on September 8, 2013. Irene graduated from Hazel Green High School, Hazel Green, WI in 1955 and Mercy School of Nursing in 1958. She worked for Drs. Logan and Searight, Galena 1958 – 1960; Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque 1960 – 1970; EMT on the Galena Ambulance 1978 – 1994; Medical Associates Clinic as Dr. O’Neill’s head nurse 1979 – 2003; Walmart, Galena 2006 – 2012; she had a home craft business 1989 – present and greatly enjoyed giving her family and friends homemade gifts. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She loved watching movies, dancing, crocheting, crafts and going to garage sales. Christmas was her favorite holiday. She loved decorating and making homemade gifts.  She was very proud of all her nursing accomplishments. For many years, she greatly enjoyed her involvement with her friends in the Nativity B.V.M. Mothers Club. She also enjoyed her sibling/Weber lunch once a month – always bringing homemade gifts for everyone. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, godmother, sister and friend. She is survived by five children, Kevin (Jamie) Budden of Freeport, Kathy Budden of Dubuque, Keith (Lorrie) Budden of Fayetteville, NC, Karla (Steven) Feldmann and Kim (Kevin) Sinagra, both of Galena. Eight grandchildren, Raegan (Jerod) Budden, Greg (Amanda) , Susan and Raymond Feldmann, Jesse and Brittany Sinagra, Donald and Ronald Richards, one great grandson, Hunter Feldmann, five sisters, Rose (Ira) Kunkel, Jean Redman, Mary (John) Trannel, Nancy Miller, Rita (Bob) Leifker, two brothers Jim (Carol) Weber, Joe (Cindy) Weber, brothers-in-law Wendell Comer, Eldon Budden, Eddie Handfelt and sisters-in-law, Alverna Ramaker and Wilma Budden and many nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents, her sister Janis Comer, her brother John Weber, in-laws Andy Redman, Mike Miller, Leo Ramaker, Dick and Eloyse Runde, Evie Handfelt and five nephews, Marvin Redman, Chuck Miller, Danny Kunkel, David Ramaker and Mike Uthe. An Irene A. Budden memorial fund has been established.
