Harry is one of the kindest, most genuine and interesting people I have ever known. I’ll always have great memories of backyard chats in the sunshine, talking about everything from birds, plants, trails, and books, to Bob Dylan and the Grateful Dead. My sincere condolences to his family. He was the best neighbor and will be profoundly missed.

It is with much sadness that I send my sincere sympathy to Harry’s family and friends. Harry was one of the good ones! My late husband worked side by side with Harry as part of the GALE (Galena Area Land Enthusiasts) volunteer team and valued the friendship that resulted. When my husband was struggling, Harry offered support. His kindness and decency had no boundaries. Harry will be missed by many.

Harry and my dad were best friends. I have so many wonderful memories of them together in Galena. They took me to my first Grateful Dead show in 1992. I am eternally grateful to have had both of them in my life and Harry will be sorely missed. ❤️

I first met Harry when I had my store/coffeeshop downtown. He’d come in for a cup and we’d visit. He was always so cheerful and interesting. We’d talk about anything. Throughout the years I’d bump into him, mainly on our dog walks, and we’d continue the conversation. He was a wonderful, kind and thoughtful man, I’ll miss him. Our sincere condolences to his children and family.
