Harold “Whitey” R. Foecking 94, of Galena, IL passed away Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Midwest Medical Center, Galena. Funeral service will be 11 AM, Friday, March 8, 2019 at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena and where friends may call after 9 AM until time of the service. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Galena. He was born March 13, 1924 in Galena the youngest of six children to Henry and Elizabeth (Heim) Foecking. Harold was united in marriage to his wife of seventy-two years Jane M. Holland on June 22, 1946 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Galena and she survives. He worked for the Savanna Army Depot for many years until his retirement. Following retirement he worked for the Galena Territory Property Owners Association and Chestnut Mountain Resort. Harold served for twenty-five plus years in the Galena Fire Department. He enjoyed playing euchre, golfing, spending time with his family and friends and being on the river. Harold was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Carol (Eldie) Redd and Shari Foecking, two grandsons, Mike Felderman and Jeff (Lisa) Redd, two great -granddaughters, Kali and Leia Felderman. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings and their spouses, Walter (Jessie) Foecking, Marie (Robert) Fox, Adel (Irvin) Temperly, Roy (Gert) Foecking and Raymond Foecking.
