Georgiann R. Wasmund, 82, of Galena, IL passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral service will be 11 AM, Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the Schapville Zion Church, Schapville, IL. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM, Friday, December 9, 2016 at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena and after 10 AM, Saturday at the church until time of service. She was born April 26, 1934 in Watertown, WI the daughter of Edmund and Edna (Kunnert) Behlke. She moved to Galena in 1955. Georgiann was united in marriage to Duane Ware on December 15, 1951 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Galena and together they had six children. She worked at Eaton Corporation in Hanover and later cooked at many local restaurants. Georgiann most recently was employed as a tour guide at Grant’s Home in Galena. She enjoyed travelling, dancing and morel picking. Georgiann loved being out and about spending time with her friends. She is survived by her children, Marty Ware of Galena, Linda (Mike Mark) Ballard of Loves Park, IL, Penny (Jeff) Winders of Elizabeth, Mark (Rachel) Ware of Sterling, IL, Michael Ware of Milwaukee, WI and Matthew (Roberta) Ware of Elizabeth, seven grandchildren, Trevor, Kristy, Josh, Jessica, Luke, Matthew and Zeke, and four great-grandchildren, a brother, Rodell, a sister, Florence and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two grandchildren, Justin and Kyle Ware, a great grandson, Charles Ware, five brothers, Merlin, Vernon, Kenneth, Paul and Norman, three sisters, Dorothy, Gladys and Grace. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Dubuque, Dr. Wells, Shelly and all our family and friends for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
