Frances Veronica (Miller) Symons 97, passed away January 26th, 2017 at the Lena Living Center, Lena, IL. Funeral mass will be 11am, Monday January 30th, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Gratiot, WI and where friends may call after 10 AM at the church.  Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Furlong Funeral Home, Shullsburg, WI is in charge of arrangements. Born on December 4, 1919 in Hazel Green, Wisconsin to parents William S. and Mary M. Miller.  She was a 52 year cancer survivor.  Through the years she was involved with local 4-H clubs, Lafayette County Homemakers Association, St. Joseph’s Women’s Altar Society, Gratiot, WI.  She was very active in the church being a lector whenever needed.  She also loved to garden and sew.
Survivors include her children Thomas Symons, of Dixon, IL; Terry Symons, of Hollywood, FL; John Symons, of Gratiot, WI and Carole Sanders (Symons), of Orange Park, FL: 8 grandchildren Veronica, Christopher, Ann-Marie, Brian, Lori, Sarah, Tracie and Rex Jr.; 14 great grandchildren Eric, Rachel, Austin, Matthew, Adam, Ryan, Jordan, Josylin, Gabrielle, Connor, Maxwell, Ethan, Tristian and Zoey: 2 great-great grandchildren Aiden and Adeline.
Preceding her in death were her husband Charles, daughter Mary Kathleen, son James Matthew and her sister Hilda Bailey.
