Elaine A. Olson, 83 of Galena, IL passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Galena Stauss Senior Care Community. Funeral service will be 11 AM, Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena. Burial of the cremated remains will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Galena. Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM, Monday, May 11, 2015 at the Furlong Funeral Chapel. She was born June 26, 1931 in Galena the daughter of Claude and Alverna (Jahncke) Ruchti. Elaine was united in marriage to Robert Olson on September 9, 1950 at Riverside Covenant Church, Sioux City, IA and he survives. She worked at Burgess Battery Factory, sold Avon and retired from Morrison Brothers Foundry, Dubuque, IA. Elaine loved her dogs, enjoyed reading and going to garage sales. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Galena where she served as a Deacon. She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Paula of Elizabeth, Il, three sons, Alan of Galena, Craig (Cathy) of Dubuque and Brett (Diana) of Apple Canyon Lake, eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, a sister, Nancy (Eugene) Calvert of Galena, a brother, Tom (Becky) Ruchti of Menominee and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Eric, a brother, Ross, a sister in infancy, Mildred and a grandson, Adam Ties.
