Donna E. Spurr, 83 of Galena, IL passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018, at Galena Stauss Senior Care Community. Funeral service will be 11 AM Thursday, August 30, 2018, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Galena and where friends may gather after 10:30 AM at the church until time of service. Friends may gather from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Galena. Donna was born September 26, 1934, in Stockton, IL the daughter of Dawson and Mae (West) Vincent. She married Robert F. Spurr on September 29, 1956, and he preceded her in death on March 31, 2012. Donna worked for Rockwell International, Cedar Rapids, IA for many years until retiring in 1990. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Donna enjoyed playing cards, gardening, cooking, and baking. She volunteered for the Galena Food Pantry, Galena Museum, and the Midwest Medical Center Gift Shop. Donna was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Midwest Medical Center Fitness, Eastern Star and Westminster Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her children Randy Spurr of Albuquerque, NM, Machelle (Scot) Enright, of Raymore, MO and Robbie (Marsha) Spurr of Cicero, IN; eight grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren, three brothers, Clint Vincent, Kerry (Nancy) Vincent and Brad Vincent, four sisters, Beverley (Delbert) Kern, Cleo Lawrence, Linda Vincent and Sherry Martin and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a daughter, Debbie. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Galena Stauss Senior Care Community and Hospice of Dubuque especially Kristin and Amy your care and kindness will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations are made to Hospice of Dubuque or the Galena Foundation in memory of Donna.
