Diane Palagi, 68, of Galena, IL and formerly Chicago passed away Monday, November 4, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Visitation Wednesday, November 13, 2019, from 3 until 9 PM at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 South Greenwood Avenue, Blue Island, IL. Chapel prayers Thursday at 9 AM at the funeral home then to St. Benedict Church, 2339 York Street, Blue Island for mass at 10:00 AM. The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena is in charge of local arrangements. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip, IL.  She was born December 17, 1950, in Chicago to Thomas J. and Mary Grace (Hunt) Sanderson. Diane married Robert G. Palagi on July 31, 1971, in Calumet Park IL. She was an avid genealogist for the past 35 years. Diane transcribed the early church records for St Michael’s and St. Mary’s Catholic Churches, Galena which are currently available at the Galena Public Library. She also enjoyed reading and doing puzzles with Bob. Diane is survived by her husband, Robert Palagi, daughter, Melissa (David) Allsop of St Charles, MO;

 son, Jason (Patricia Perry) of Goreville, IL; 3 grandchildren, Joel David Allsop, Haley (Cody) Hastings, Rayana Hammersley; her siblings, Edward (Donna) Sanderson; Jeanine Perry; Deborah Paruszkiewicz, Brian (Karen) Sanderson, Thomas (Jovita) Sanderson and many nieces and nephews.  The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Dubuque for their wonderful care of Diane. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Diane.
