David L. Dockins, 60 of Galena, IL passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 18, 2020, at Midwest Medical Center, Galena. In accordance with state and federal guidance on gatherings during the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be conducting public services. Cremation rites will be accorded. The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena is assisting the family. He was born December 18, 1959, in Rockford, IL the son of Hollis and Billy Sue (Wilburn) Dockins. He spent most of his life assisting his parents at the Old Blanding Tavern.  Dave also worked in construction. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. Dave is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Chanda Petit, two sons, Dustin (Diana) Dockins and Chase (Amber) Dockins, one daughter, Misha (Adam) Dockins,  seven grandchildren; Brynn D, Michael D, Caidynce D., Cara Bourrette , Garrette Bourrette, Adelynn Dockins and Charlie Dockins, one great-grandchild, Blayke Larson, one sister, Caroline (Fred) Arnold and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Hollie Dockins. Memorials may be sent to Misha Dockins, 3847 Christopher Drive, Rockford, IL 61101 in memory of Dave.
