David “Super Dave” Joseph Rossman, 60, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away February 20, 2019 at home surrounded by family. Funeral mass will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Resurrection Church, Dubuque. A gathering will be held from 4 to 8 PM, Friday, February 22, 2019 at Hoffman Schneider and Kitchen Funeral Home, Asbury, IA. Burial will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded. The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena is assisting the family. David was born on September 25, 1958 the son of Robert and Patricia (Sanders) Rossman. He was united in marriage to Juliane Hasken in 1981. He attended Hempstead High School and graduated from Loras College in 1981. He worked for Trausch Baking (Bimbo) for thirty years until his retirement. During his retirement he drove a school bus for ABC Learning. Dave was a proud father and grandfather, delivering an infectious laugh, he enjoyed gatherings with friends and family. He loved to cook for his family and was a lifelong Cubs, Bears and Hawkeye fan. Along with lifelong friends, Dave enjoyed a successful career in the Dubuque softball scene, earning the nickname Super Dave. He was a member of BR Flynn when they won the Class A 1988 State Softball tournament. Dave enjoyed many sports such as golf and bowling (including an 800 series). He is survived by his wife Juliane; four children, Nick (Sophie Banwarth), Amanda (Jeremy) Way, Megan (Zach) Hardy, and Abby; his grandchildren: Audri; Ruby; Rocco; and Oliver; brother, Mike (Mary) Rossman, sister, Julie (Tom) Furlong. Mother-in-law Doris Hasken, In-laws, Allen (Ria) Hasken; Janel (Dave) Celbulko; Lloyd (Faith) Hasken, Beth (Joe) Broderick, Glenn (Tina) Hasken, Martha (Kevin) Grossman and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Earl Hasken, God child Shane Broderick and nephew Joel Hasken. The family requests no flowers. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Dubuque and the Doctors and Nurses at Unity Point Finley Hospital.
