Cristine Michele Gronner, 57 of Galena, IL, found peace September 14, 2018 at Pearl Pavilion, Freeport, IL. In keeping with her wishes there will be no public services. Cremation rites have been accorded. The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena is assisting the family. She was born September 1, 1961 in Dubuque, IA the daughter of Lloyd and Elizabeth (Sager) Gronner. Our Mother was a “force to be reckoned with” as one person remembered her with a smile. She felt strongly in her opinions and beliefs and openly shared them…solicited or not. She could be the sweetest, most loving and charitable person I know. She was genuinely herself always. She fought for the underdog and would give you the last dollar to her name if you needed it. She always seemed happiest when she was doing something kind for someone else and she worked hard to make sure we each understood the importance of that and lived the same way. Her compassion for others in their time of need was her greatest quality. More than she could ever realize, she will be deeply missed every day. She leaves behind her children: Sarah Golick, William “Bill” Herrick (Mikayla Arensdorff), Meghan (David) Feldermann. Grandchildren: Zoey Herrick & Jaymie, Liam and Logan Feldermann, Evelynn Herrick and happily anticipated Baby Feldermann and Baby Herrick. Grandmother: Margaret Sager, Parents: Lloyd and Liz Gronner, Brothers: Lloyd Jr. “Chop” Gronner and Willie (Joyce) Gronner. Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Great Niece and Great Nephews. We would like to thank the Galena Police Dept and FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, IL for their care and compassion over the last year.
