Claire Irene Russ, 68 of Galena, IL passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Midwest Medical Center, Galena. In keeping with her wishes there will be no services. The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena is assisting the family. She was born March 5, 1955, in Washington, DC the daughter of Gerard and Rose (Laundry) Roy. Claire graduated from Cambrio High School in Lompoc, CA with the class of 1973. After graduation, she enlisted in the United States Air Force on September 18, 1973, and served until her honorable discharge on July 15, 1977. After leaving the Air Force Claire worked in the Pentagon for eleven years as an administrative specialist for the Armed Forces. She was united in marriage to Jerry Russ on June 11, 1983, in Hawaii.  Claire enjoyed jewelry making, jazzercise, and yoga. She is survived by her husband, Jerry of Galena, and three sisters, Marie Roy of Palm Beach FL, Michelle (William) Rodriguez of Naples, FL, and Jean (Bob) Conner of Orlando, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents.
