Carl N. Edwards, 94 of Galena, IL passed away, Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Galena Stauss Senior Care Community. Funeral service will be 11 AM, Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena and where family and friends may gather after 10 AM. Military honors will be presented by the Galena VFW Post #2665 and American Legion Post #193. Immediately following the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded. He was born August 13, 1921 in Platteville, WI the son of Isaac and Lillian (Habel) Edwards. Carl joined the Army and served during World War II. Carl worked at the Louisburg Garage, Cuba City, WI for several years and then worked for the government where he oversaw the remodeling/refurbishing of United States Post Offices. He worked in construction until his retirement. Carl was a member of Grace Episcopal Church where he volunteered his time and talents for many remodeling projects. Carl is survived by his son, Mark (Brenda) Edwards of Peosta, IA and his sister-in-law, Bernice Edwards of Galena and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Milder, Leroy, Thomas, Maynard, and Robert “Bud” and five sisters, Dorothy, Ella, Ann, Edna and Betty.
