Angeline “Angie” Lentis 88, of Galena, IL passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Galena Stauss Senior Care Community. Funeral service will be 11:30 AM, Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena where friends may call after 11 AM until the time of service. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Galena. She was born February 27, 1930, in Chicago, IL. After she was born at the age of two Angie moved to Greece where she was raised by her grandmother Sabastia Lentis. She attended school in Greece and moved back to Chicago, IL at the age of sixteen. Angie worked for Hostess Brands for thirty-five years until her retirement. She enjoyed traveling and throughout the years called many places home. Angie’s favorite past-times were visiting with friends, watching Television especially War movies and cooking shows (especially spikie). She is survived by her sister, Seeaspiar Bankis of Chicago, her brother, Nick Lentis of Athens Greece, her nieces, and nephews and a special friend, Kaye of Galena. Angie was preceded in death by her parents and a special brother-in-law, Gus Bankis. The family would like to thank the staff at Galena Stauss Senior Care Community, Hospice of Dubuque, Medical Associates and Dr. Crist for their care and compassion. A heartfelt thank-you to her special friend, Kaye for always being there when Angie needed her.
