Agnes Coletta Schultz, 91, of Galena, IL passed away April 25, 2016 at her home. Funeral mass will be 10:30 AM, Friday, April 29, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Galena and where friends may call after 9:30 am at the church. Friends may call from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena where a parish rosary will be recited at 4 pm. Burial will be in Pilot Knob Cemetery rural Galena. She was born October 21, 1924 in Guilford, Twp. the daughter of Albert and Clara (Huschar) Weis. She was united in marriage to John E. Schultz on June 5, 1945 and he preceded her in death on January 9, 2008. Agnes was a homemaker and helped her husband on the family farm. She was a fantastic cook and her grandchildren always looked forward to her homemade bread. Agnes enjoyed genealogy, sewing, gardening, canning and baking. She served as an election judge for many years in Rice Township. She was a devout member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Altar and Rosary Society. Agnes was a faithful, loving wife, mother and grandmother and very devoted to her family; raising four children and later in life helping her daughter Jean raise her son. She is survived by her three children, Margaret (Jim) Hohner of Chicago, John A. (Sandra) Schultz and Jean C. Schultz, both of Galena, seven grandchildren: Martin and Rachel Hohner, Aaron, John “Loren”, Andre, Coel and Marion Schultz, two sisters, Helen Danz of Dubuque and Marguerite (Virgil) Turk of Waupun, WI, a sister in-law, Carma Weis of Galena and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Joyce, a brother Clarence Weis, five brothers in-law, Gilbert Danz, Matt Schultz, Ray Miller, Charles Schultz and Wilbur Wills, six sisters in-law, Viola, Ethel and Doris Schultz, Rose Miller, Mary Schultz and Alice Wills. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to 24 Hour Care, especially Marianne, and to Dr. Vandigo for his many years of care.
