Charles Alden Thompson, 86 of rural Shullsburg, WI passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023, at his home. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no public services. The burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery, New Diggins, WI at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded. The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena, IL is assisting the family. He was born May 27, 1937, in New Diggings, the son of Walter and Grace (Haser) Thompson. Charles and his parents moved to their family farm in 1941. He graduated from Shullsburg High School with the class of 1954. Charles enjoyed farming, playing softball, watching sports on TV, and playing cards with his friends, especially Euchre. He is survived by his sister, Norene (Marlin) Pfeil, and three nephews, Doug (Susan) of West Des Moines, IA, Jim (Kari) of Delavan, WI, and Mike (Stephanie) of Evansville, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Keith.
