Rachel A. Stilson, 81, of Galena, IL, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Allure of Mount Carroll. A private family burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Galena. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from Noon to 4 PM at the Galena Elks Lodge. The Furlong Funeral Chapel in Galena is assisting the family. Rachel was born on April 16, 1943, in Woodbine Township, the daughter of Benjaman and Elizabeth Beyer. She graduated from Lena-Winslow High School and served as the secretary for the Galena Elks Lodge for many years. Rachel was also a member of the Galena Eagles Club and the Elks Lodge. She enjoyed playing euchre with her family and friends. Her three sons survive her: Alan of South Carolina, Bob of Galena, Don of Nebraska, and her sister, Mary, of Freeport, IL. Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother Betty, two brothers, Benjaman and William, and one sister, Catherine. Donations in Rachel’s memory may be made to the Slick and Easy fund at the Galena Elks Lodge.
