Larry D. Riley, 50, of Dubuque, IA, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family. A celebration of life will be held at 4 PM, Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena, IL, where friends may call after 2 PM until the time of service. Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home before the celebration of life. The burial will be held at a later date. He was born December 30, 1973, in Wichita, KS, the son of Wayne and Helen (Jenkins) Riley. Larry served in the United States Army from September 1992 until his honorable discharge in February 1996. He was stationed at Camp Humphreys in South Korea. Larry married Katie Edmonds on June 13, 2015, in East Dubuque, IL and she survives. He followed in his father’s footsteps and was a truck driver for many years. Larry enjoyed fishing, spending time with his kids and grandkids, and playing World of Warcraft. He is survived by his wife, Katie, his children, Jordan (Kristina) Edmonds, William and Keith Buckman, Sarah (Cody) Abrams, Christopher Riley, Ansleigh Rendon, his siblings, Robert (Michelle) Riley, Frank (Patti) Riley, Tamra ( Karl) Wohlgemuth, Annisha (Josh) Sampson, his grandchildren, CJ Riley, Sailor Ballew, Serenity Edmonds, Jasper Rendon, his mother in law, Hazel Edmonds, brother-in-law, Mike (Rachel) Edmonds, and many nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his father-in-law, William Edmonds, and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
