Kay Marlene Steinle, 82, of Galena, IL, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024, at Allure of Stockton. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM, Thursday, February 22, 2024, at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena, where friends may call after 11 AM until the time of service. The burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Galena. She was born August 24, 1941, in Galena, the daughter of Raymond and Mary (Powers) Steinle. Kay graduated from Scales Mound High School with the class of 1960. She spent much time caring for her mom and her brothers as they aged. Kay loved cooking, sewing, and gardening. She loved the farm and all the animals. Kay had the magic of returning injured, sick, or orphaned animals to health. She loved gardening and had a green thumb; she could make anything grow. Kay is survived by her brother, Ralph J. Steinle, and two nieces, Lori and Lisa Steinle. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Raymond J., Robert H., Ronald F., and Richard J., and a sister-in-law, Pat Steinle.
