Joseph F. “Joe” Kieffer, 61, of Galena, IL, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2026. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2026, from 1 to 4 PM at the Galena Golf Club. The Furlong Funeral Chapel in Galena is assisting the family. He was born February 7, 1965, in Galena, the son of Patrick and Phyllis (Houy) Kieffer. Joe graduated from Galena High School in 1984. He was employed at the John Deere Dubuque Works. He married Connie Britt on October 25, 2002. Joe loved to play golf and was a member of the Galena Golf Club. He is survived by his wife, Connie, of Galena; his mother, Phyllis Zuehlke, of Galena; siblings, Jim (Julie) Kieffer of Nevada, IA, John (Rose) Kieffer of Virginia Beach, VA, Diane (Jon) Gockel of Dubuque, IA, and Donna (Todd) Calvert of Galena; mother-in-law, Bernice Britt; brother-in-law, Butch (Tina) Britt of New Hampton, IA; and his many nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his father, his father-in-law, Tom Britt, and a nephew, Jordan Kieffer.
