John “Allan” Zver

John “Allan” Zver, 72 of Galena, IL passed away suddenly Monday, September 5, 2016 at Midwest Medical Center, Galena. In keeping with his wishes there will be no public services. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial will be at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Galena. The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena is assisting the family. He was born June 27, 1944 in Chicago, IL the son of John and Edith (Collett) Zver. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was united in marriage to Joan Vacherlon on July 1, 1972 in Wheaton, IL and she preceded him in death on April 25, 2009. They lived in Wheaton and Glen Ellyn, IL. Retired in Galena Territory and spent time in Venice, FL. Allan worked for Krack Corporation, a subsidiary of Hussmann. Hussmann was later purchased by Ingersoll-Rand in 2000 the majority of his time there was under Krack-Hussmann. Allan was an artist who took up painting upon his retirement and was also a member of the Galena Performing Arts. He is survived by his sister, Gloria (George) Mika Naples, FL, two nephews, David Mika of Naples, FL and Michael Mika of Bolingbrook, IL, a niece, Debbie Forbis of Naples, FL and his best friend, Cheryl Lange of Galena. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
