James T. (Digger) Furlong receives his embalming license and goes to work for Carroll Funeral Home in Chicago, Illinois.
1950
James T. returns to Galena and begins working for his Great Uncle.
1957
James is elected to 4 consecutive 4 year terms as County Coroner.
1964
Furlong Funeral Chapel moves from 113 Main Street to 227 North Main Street.
1982
James purchases a funeral home on Judgement Street in Shullsburg, Wisconsin.
1986
Thomas J. Furlong becomes licensed and joins his father at the Funeral Chapel.
2005
After 41 years at 227 North Main Street, the Furlongs built a new facility off of Gear Street at 100 Caroldon Court.
