It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Henrietta Farr, who left us peacefully on August 21, 2025, at the age of 86. A memorial Mass will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Galena. The Furlong Funeral Chapel in Galena is assisting the family. Henrietta was born in Galena, IL, to Joseph and Pauline (Bussan) Dillon. She graduated from Galena High School in 1957 and then from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Dubuque, IA. After graduating, she embarked on a new adventure, traveling to the Last Frontier and accepting a position as a nurse at St. Ann’s Hospital in Juneau, Alaska. There, she met Wilbur “Bill” Farr, the love of her life. They married on April 11, 1965, and together raised three children. Henrietta continued her nursing career at Bartlett Memorial Hospital. She was also a founding member of the Juneau Racquet Club, where she enjoyed playing tennis, and she loved singing with the traveling St. Paul Singers. In September 1997, Henrietta moved to Bellingham, Washington, where she enjoyed bunco and bridge, and was a member of the Bellingham Tennis Club, the Bellingham Golf and Country Club, and Assumption Catholic Church. She deeply cherished the friendships she formed during her time there. Henrietta will always be remembered for her sense of style, dipping her toast into her morning coffee and savoring an afternoon cappuccino, her love of reading, her enjoyment of the Sunday crossword puzzle, her passion for following the Mariners and Seahawks, her love of traveling, and her undeniable sweet tooth. Henrietta is survived by her children, Tiffany Bradshaw (Brad), MaryPat Christ (Richard), and Robert Farr (Kristin); her grandchildren, Hunter, Chase, Kieffer, Sydney, Parker, and Scarlett; her brothers, Martin (Joan) Dillon and Joseph Dillon Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents; her sisters, Mary, Ruth, and Sheila; and her brother-in-law, Joe. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Whatcom Hospice Foundation (2901 Squalicum Parkway, Bellingham, Washington 98225, 360-788-6865). The family extends heartfelt thanks to her caregivers, whose compassion, dedication, and kindness brought comfort and dignity throughout her final months.
