Harold “Mountain” Glasson
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Harold “Mountain” Glasson. He was called to his eternal resting place on December 21, 2024, peacefully at home at the age of 81. A celebration of life will be held for Mountain at a later date.
Mountain was born to Ray and Genevieve Glasson on May 10, 1943. He dedicated his working years to the foundry, served as a miner, and enjoyed roles in security and maintenance. He found joy in the little things in life, such as kicking tires, traveling, mowing lawns, and dining out. However, his most profound love was for God, which guided him throughout his journey in life. His passing is not a time of sorrow, but a moment for all who knew him to reflect on memories and celebrate a life well-lived.
As we remember Mountain, we commit ourselves to embodying the virtues he exemplified through his love for family, friends, faith, and church. Mountain’s spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he left behind. He is survived by his devoted wife, Judy Glasson. The bond they shared since their marriage in 1965 remained unbroken through the years, a testament to their unwavering love and commitment. Together, they navigated the ups and downs of life, with Judy faithfully by his side until the very end.
His loving family also survives mountain: his children, Brenda (Tim) Burgess and Brandon (Stacey) Glasson; his grandchildren, Emily (Ben) Graham, Anna (Beau) Brice, William Burgess, and Jack and Dylan Glasson; his great-grandchildren, Lakynn and Bailey Graham, and Colt and Danielle Brice; as well as his sister-in-law, Joyce Glasson.
Mountain was preceded in death by his loving parents, Ray and Genevieve Glasson, and his brother, William Glasson. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Vandigo (Medical Associates, Galena), Hospice of Dubuque, and Galena Bible Church. The Furlong Funeral Chapel in Galena is assisting the family.
