Forrest “Muzzy” Musselman
Forrest V. “Muzzy” Musselman, 84 of Galena, IL passed away Monday, November 20, 2023, at Ennoble Manor, Dubuque, IA. A gathering will be held from 5 to 7 PM, Friday, December 1, 2023, at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena. The burial will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded. He was born June 16, 1939, in Gratiot, WI the son of Vernon and Pearl (Bennet) Musselman. He was united in marriage to his wife of fifty-six years Marilyn Fowler, on June 25, 1960, and she preceded him in death on January 24, 2017. Muzzy worked for Eagle Pitcher Mines, John Deere Dubuque Works, where he retired in 2001. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, toy shows, and collecting John Deere items. He and Marilyn loved to take day trips on the back roads. They always traveled the less traveled roads to see what they could find. There wasn’t a dog that he wouldn’t try to pet or talk to. He loved dogs. Muzzy loved spending time with his family and never missed a family event. He is survived by his daughter, Mitzi Schuster of Cuba City, WI, one granddaughter, Holly (DJ) Shireman of Cuba City, and one great-granddaughter, Lilly Shireman. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a daughter, Marci Musselman. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Ennoble Nursing and Rehabilitation for their great care of Dad. The family requests no flowers.
