Daniel Francis Welp, 62, of Galena, IL passed away on February 23, 2022. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Galena. The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena is assisting the family. Danny was born in Galena on October 23, 1959, the son of Elmo and Mary Ellen Welp.  After graduating from Galena High School in 1978 he worked as a laborer in road construction for many years. Dan loved deer hunting and ice fishing. He is survived by his niece, Ellie Welp, and his nephew, Ben Welp, sister-in-law, Nan Welp, an aunt, an uncle, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie, his parents, his brother, Tim, and his beloved dog, Mississippi.
