Brian L. “Brodie” Friede, 57, of Galena, IL died Monday, May 9, 2016 at OSF St. Anthony’s Hospital, Rockford. There will be no public services. The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena is assisting the family. He was born September 24, 1958 in Streator, IL the son of Donald “Dutch” and Beverly (Williams) Friede. Brian spent the majority of his life in Tennessee. He was currently employed at Lemfco Foundry in Galena. He enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, cooking, barbecuing and listening to music. Brian was an avid Miami Dolphins fan. He loved being around friends and family and could make anyone laugh. He will be sadly missed by his loving family and friends. He is survived by his three children; Molly, Katie and Ryan, seven grandchildren; his mother, Bev of Galena, his siblings; William (Mary) Friede of Rockford, IL, Mary Jane (Bret) Elwell of Marathon, FL, Lynn (Rich) Richardson of Galena and Lori “Lodie” (Kurt) Einsweiler of Galena, his aunt, Cherie Grennan  of Streator, IL and many nieces, nephews and loyal companion, “LuLu”. He was preceded in death by his father on August 12, 2004.
