It is with profound sadness that the family of Allen P. Trebian announces his unexpected passing on March 21, 2025, at the age of 59. Join us for a PBR in honor of Allen from Noon until 7 PM on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 269 South Irish Hollow Road, Galena. Please bring your favorite photo of Allen for Tammy and the family and share a story about him. Food and drinks will be provided. Kindly RSVP at [email protected] so we can plan accordingly for food. Allen was born in Galena on August 30, 1965, to Duane and Alberta (Staver) Trebian. He graduated from Galena High School in 1983. He went on to attend Clarke University in Dubuque, IA, where he pursued his love of art, gaining extensive knowledge of PBR instead of obtaining an academic certificate. In October 2004, Allen married Tammy L. Bolton. He worked as a property manager at Las Brisas Farm and Polo Club in Elgin, IL, where he will be deeply missed by Larry and Brisas Aschebrook, along with the many friends he made throughout his life. He dedicated himself to providing for his family, and his second greatest devotion was his remarkable sense of humor and numerous talents, which endeared him to everyone around him. Allen was known as a jack of all trades and the “master of all,” serving as a best friend, father, husband, brother, and son. He created a sense of community wherever he went. Allen used his many talents as the co-owner of the Common Cents Resale store in Elizabeth, IL, alongside his beloved wife, Tammy. He was the kind of person who would literally give the shirt off his back to anyone in need and always had a quick wit to brighten someone’s day. He is survived by his “bitchy” wife of 20 years, Tammy; his son, Harley, who shares his father’s caring traits; his siblings, Rose, Carol, Bernard, Dennis, and Helene; many nieces and nephews; his in-laws, Thomas and Patricia Bolton. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Skyler Trebian; a brother, Carl Trebian; and a nephew, Andrew Trebian. Donations may be given to the Jo Daviess County Beef Association for future scholarships, in care of Preston Cerneck, 5364 East Bethel Road, Elizabeth, IL 61028.

Dear Tammy , Harley and family,
I am sincerely so sorry to hear about Alan’s passing. I cut his hair for 25 years, I always looked forward to seeing him, he was so kind and caring, he always made me laugh and made my day. Tammy when he met you he became the true man he was, he spoke of you often. Then I met you and cut your hair and saw what he saw in you. You two were a perfect match. Harley you accompanied your dad at times when I cut his hair, he loved you so. I am heartbroken at this news. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. Alan is in heaven, be at Peace.🙏 condolences from Michelle Leland.
Great human. Allen and I would seek each other out at Ashebrook events to share stories and laugh. One of favorite stories of Allen was the day I met him at the farm in Galena. He was showing us the “fainting” goats that suddenly escaped. Allen was chasing the goats all over the farm and trying to shout at them to faint but to no avail. It was hilarious chaos. Sorry for your loss Tammy and family.
Dear Tammy,
Dear Tammy: Alan was one of the kindest, most gentle, and generous people I have ever met. What a wonderful neighbor! We especially will never forget the support of you both for us and my mother, when we sold the house. We are profoundly sad that he is gone. We send you and your family our love and our prayers. So sad to hear the news of Allen’s passing.
Allen was one of the original founders of the Galena G.O.A.T.S. Cycling Club. He was also the glue that made the multiple late July Ragbrai trips of cycling across Iowa memorable events for all the participants.

So shocked to hear of Allen’s passing at so young an age. He delivered firewood to our home many years ago and we remembered him. Deepest sympathy to the family.

Dear Tammy and Family, please accept our deepest sympathy on the loss of your Allen. I met him a few times at Common Cents, and he was always so very kind. He brought out a very large old fashioned water pump to our home that we purchased as a yard decoration. He carried it as if it weighed nothing, saying it didn’t bother him at all as he was used to carrying calves around. God Bless.
